Workflow

Working with PACKED Data Manager generally encompasses these steps:

  1. Accessing the Addon Interface.
  2. Selecting a Data Type of interest.
  3. Selecting Data Type Scope Mode.
  4. Using Filters to narrow down the list to specific data of interest.
  5. Executing desired Operations.

Accessing the Addon Interface

The main add-on panel can be found in the Blender's sidebar inside the 3D Viewport (by default opened by pressing N with the mouse cursor inside the 3D Viewport area).

Selecting a Data Type of Interest

  1. Identify the Data Type you wish to interact with.
  2. Select the preferred Data Type from the Data Type Selection dropdown.

Selecting a Data Type Scope Mode

Selected mode is best if you wish to manipulate data types sourced from objects that you can select in the 3D viewport.

Custom mode is best if you wish to manipulate data types sourced from specific parent data types.

Global mode is best if you wish to manipulate data types sourced from the entire Blend file.

Use Filters to Narrow Down Selection

Use the Filters of each Data Type Selection List and Two-Way Filtering to exclude or include data type items based on the filter conditions.

Execute Operation

Select a desired operation to execute on the item selection.

Inspect the Operation Report

Optionally, you can view the operation report by pressing the Operation Report button in the settings bar of the data type selection interface.
